Marco’s measurements:

Height: 29 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 19 1/2 pounds (50th percentile)
Head circumference: 17 1/4 inches (25th percentile)

Still tall, but now he’s bulked up! His doctor was very pleased with his physical growth, though we need to continue with the iron supplements.

As far as mental development, the pediatrician said Marco is ahead of most 9 month old babies. He’s been pulling himself to standing for several months, and feeding himself small items like raisins, macaroni, yogurt melts, etc. since the end of December. Marco passes small objects from one hand to the other, and says ‘Mama’, ‘Dada’ and is trying to say ‘More’. He manages ‘maarrrr’. Last weekend we taught him clapping, and he’s starting to wave ‘hello’.

He eats anything and everything. With as much energy as he’s burning up, it makes sense!

Marco is almost ready for a front-facing car seat, holy mackerel!!

Picture updates…

Marco is 9 months old!!

He’s pulling himself to a stand on EVERYTHING!

He loves to stomp his feet on the ground when he wears shoes

Marco has a puzzle set that he loves to play with, though he mainly just chews on the pieces. A few days ago, however, he started to figure out that the pieces were meant to fit into the spaces, and has attempted to put them in their proper place. No success yet, but it is fun to watch him try!

He also loves this music table that we’re borrowing from the Gomers.

On Wednesday, Marco has his 9 month wellness checkup; I’ll post the height/weight updates then.

First tooth

Marco’s first tooth finally pushed its way through!

This picture was taken 2 weeks ago. As of now, he has three additional teeth coming out! You can see the white nubs ready to poke through his gums.

8 MONTHS!!

Measurements

Height: 28 3/4″ (85th Percentile)
Weight: 18 lbs 2 oz (25th Percentile)

No teeth (4 months of teething and drooling, but nothing to show for it!), and no crawling. He has absolutely no interest in crawling. He loves to pull himself up to standing, but if he’s on his tummy he’ll just roll around until he can get himself into a sitting position. He gabbles to himself and practices his screeching abilities; he’s becoming quite loud, LOL. He loves to play with finger paints, and chews socks. WEIRD.

Marco’s starting to wave at people. He smiles and laughs all the time, and gives his Mama and Papa hugs and kisses; he wraps his little arms around our necks and opens his mouth wide for drooly kisses.

He’s eating EVERYTHING! Thank goodness he’s not a picky eater. His palate has approved of all of the following (most of it homemade, using the Beaba – we don’t buy jar food):

Chicken mixed with peas, avocado, or tomatoes
Turkey
Sweet potatoes
Butternut squash
Bananas with strawberries or blueberries
Pears
Carrots
Unsweetened applesauce (organic from Whole Foods) that I mix with blueberries, strawberries, or bananas
YoBaby Peach or Blueberry yogurt
Whole grain oatmeal
Cooked macaroni
Peas
Happy Baby yogurtmelts
Cheerios
Organic veggie puffs
Rice rusks
